Greentown Colors
Greentown glass comes in many beautiful colors of the EAPG time period. To date there are 12 recognized colors, that were in regular production, from this factory. The 13th color, rose agate, is speculated to be the color chosen for the new pattern of Strawberry when the factory burned down. There are only a few pieces known in this color and they were pressed in the holly pattern. Because of the fire it is assumed the rose agate color was never perfected & pressed in the strawberry pattern.
The covered Hen on Nest is the only pattern known to be produced in all 12 colors. Part of being able to identify a piece of glass as authentic Greentown glass is to be able to recognize the colors made at the factory. The following photos illustrate these colors.
